“We have no relationship with the Wagner Group”- Hemetti

Khartoum – The Rapid Support Forces in Sudan said that the allegation of a relationship between them and the Russian Wagner Group is untrue, and that it is part of the information and fake news war being waged against them.

A statement by Rapid Support distributed on Twitter stated that the latest report published by the American CNN website on the existence of such a relationship is devoid of truth.

“We stand firm defenders of truth, justice and the will of the Sudanese people. We categorically reject allegations of our involvement with the Wagner Group in the current conflict in Sudan,” the statement said.

“It is the Sudanese Armed Forces that have allied themselves with these foreign forces, not the Rapid Support Forces,” he added.

The RSF said it “will not stand idly by while outside powers try to dictate the fate of our nation. Sudan is a land of steadfastness, and we will never allow it to be divided or manipulated by foreign powers.”

The statement mentioned the commitment of the rapid and unwavering support to “restoring stability and forming a civilian government at the earliest opportunity. We are fully prepared to enter into a constructive dialogue with the international community, in a way that guarantees a peaceful and democratic transition for our beloved Sudan. Our ultimate goal is to achieve democracy for the people of Sudan without any interference from foreign powers.” Or controversial armed groups. We will not let anything stand in our way as we strive to achieve this noble goal.”

He indicated concern for “the concerns of both our citizens and the international community with regard to the ongoing conflict. Rest assured, we are working tirelessly to resolve the situation and bring peace to our nation. We call on everyone to stand together against the stream of disinformation and disinformation, united in our quest for a democratic and prosperous Sudan.”

In Khartoum and other Sudanese cities, confrontations continued between the RSF and the Sudanese army, after the army commander, Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, announced that his forces were continuing to fight, and that they would send infantry into the cities after they had used air and artillery bombardment inside the capital for several days.

The United States tried to arrange a truce during the Eid days, and US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said that he had contacted Al-Burhan and the commander of the Rapid Support Forces, Lieutenant General Muhammad Hamdan Dagalo (Hamidti), but the clashes continued after the army commander announced that the infantry forces would enter the cities.

The army forces are counting on the support of the Muslim Brotherhood movement, which ruled Sudan directly or through the army for more than three decades during the rule of ousted President Omar al-Bashir
