THE PUBLISHER’S NOTE

Boungiorno!

Welcome to the Warsan magazine’s English version. We are excited to launch this quarterly publication with an expectation that it will provide compelling content, thought-provoking topics, and inspirations.

In this era of videos, smartphones and digital content, digital media is considered the future; media specialists are claiming that, print is biting the dust, so why launch a print magazine at such crucial time? It just makes no sense.

We beg to differ. Our objective with Warsan is to illicit excitement each quarter when you get your issue. We will keep on advancing the magazines, including embracing new innovations.

Some may propose this very magazine is a risky venture, yet as a serial entrepreneur and experienced author, I think beyond traditional boundaries
and aspire to lead conversations that define the path ahead.

As a pioneer in the Somali media industry, I intend to set strategies and tactics, test, learn and challenge myself (and others) to stay ahead of the curve. Like the rest, just understanding the curve is our daily endeavours.

In a dynamic market that is more unpredictable than ever, we decided to launch Warsan with three main specific visions:
• Warsan is written for, by, and about the most progressive opinion
shapers from the region.
• The magazine intends to create a comprehensive discussion of how
media works in tandem with a plan to drive quantifiable outcomes.
• To create a platform for writers, researchers, scholars, specialists,
and opinion strategist and give them the chance of forming popular
sentiment.

Our inaugural issue is expertly curated by our editors, writers, contributors and researchers.

I would like to take a moment to thank our staff for their contributions and immense hard work to launch this magazine. As you open your first inaugural issue of Warsan, it is our sincere hope that you will be inspired.
We are always happy to hear from you.

Enjoy your reading!
